Águas de Portugal joins a World Bank project

Águas de Portugal Internacional is partnering the World Bank for the “COVID Just-in-Time” project, an initiative launched by this entity that seeks to support water supply and sanitation entities around the world to respond to the emergency posed by the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project seeks to share experiences among the operators of water supply and sanitation services, including within this scope a framework of reference for drafting Water Service Operator Emergency Plans and supporting 20 operators from different countries experiencing different phases in the pandemic, especially in Africa and Latin America.

Within this context, in May, the World Bank staged the session on “Utility Preparedness: Delivering Sustainable Services in Uncertain Times” under the auspices of Water-Online-Week 2020, for which AdP Internacional was invited to present the theme of planning and responding to the pandemic emergency and speaking about the lines of action for the post-COVID-19 recovery phase and the return to a new normality. This session counted on an audience of various dozens of regional World Bank representatives from around the world.
