2018 Annual Report and Accounts


In 2018 the Águas de Portugal Group reduced its global tariff deficit for the first time in its history and boosted investment by 41%.

The Shareholders General Assembly of AdP - Águas de Portugal, SGPS, S.A. approved its 2018 consolidated accounts with this financial year standing out for having generated a positive, 15.5 million euro, contribution to recovering the accumulated tariff deficit for the first time in the Group’s 25-year history and in addition to the 41% surge in the investment carried out.

The consolidated management report and accounts for 2018 clearly reflect the clear improvement in the key indicators for the water supply and wastewater sanitation operations run by AdP Group companies.

For the first time ever, the accumulated tariff deficit declined due to the positive contribution of 15.5 million euros from the respective supply and sanitation operations, which represents a 28 million euro advance on 2017, a year when the tariff deficit grew by its lowest ever amount of 12.5 million euros. At the end of 2018, the accumulated tariff deficit correspondingly stood at 650.9 million euros (666.4 million euros at the close of 2017).
