Águas de Portugal awarded two new contracts in Angola

Águas de Portugal is to support the launching of water supply and sanitation companies in the Angolan provinces of Bengo and Cunene. These two contracts remain in effect until 2022 and represent around $14 million following financing from the African Development Bank.

The AdP Group - Águas de Portugal has been awarded two new contracts in Angola providing for the provision of management support to the provincial water supply and sanitation companies of Bengo and Cunene through to 2022.

The two contracts account for around $14 million and involve specific activities designed to institutionally develop and empower the companies in these two provinces, especially through the permanent presence of an expert team to render support for training specialists from these companies in every area of activity, particularly in the commercial, financial, technical and maintenance fields.

These projects have received financing from the African Development Bank within the framework of institutional support for the water and sanitation sector in Angola, which broadly incorporates the founding and consolidation of public water supply and sanitation services in seven beneficiary provinces alongside strengthening institutions and sectoral governance at the local and national level.
