AdP Group backs the development of the East Timor water sector

The drafting of regulation on water quality and a managing entity for the water sector, now approved by the East Timor Government, received support from the AdP Group - Águas de Portugal. Through its holding AdP Timor-Leste, the Portuguese group has provided wide reaching support to the development of the water sector in this country where it has operated ever since 2000.

AdP Timor-Leste, an AdP Group – Águas de Portugal company, drafted two legal diplomas, now approved by the East Timor Council of Ministers, for regulating the water supply in terms of the quality control component, and alongside setting out the framework for monitoring, and founding Bee Timor – Empresa Pública (Águas de Timor) as the managing entity for the water sector.

Alongside this project, AdP Timor-Leste, in a consortium with ENGIDRO - Engineering Solutions, Lda, has now signed a contract with the East Timor Ministry of Public Works for the provision of technical assistance services for developing the strategic plans for the water supply and wastewater treatment sectors for the cities of Ainaro, Maliana and Suai.
