We develop our activities in symbiosis with the community, playing an active role in social development projects at the regional, national and international levels in areas including combating poverty, promoting equality and social inclusion, post-disaster aid and support, among others.

Within the scope of the Internal Social Responsibility Strategy, study grants are annually awarded to the children of employees who are attending higher education or special needs education.

Charity Christmas Cards – study grants for the children of employees
At the Águas de Portugal Group, each Christmas becomes an opportunity to express solidarity: the Festive Greetings cards sent by staff at Group companies save on environmental and economic resources and generate social benefits.

Girl Move
The AdP Group has also supported quality education and gender equality through its collaboration with the Girl Move Academy ever since 2016 in a project that seeks to guarantee all females have access to opportunities to become leaders of reference in the development of their communities. We annually host a Girl Mover motivated to make the difference in their country who undertakes a life internship in the AdP Group to learn more about the sector and the value of water.

We have also been participating in other projects, for example: Engineers for a Day, an initiative coordinated by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality that strives to motivate female students to embrace engineering and technology subjects, breaking down the prejudice that these are somehow male professions, as well as Divers@s and Ativ@s, run by the APPDI, with the objective of fostering diversity and non-discrimination in professional contexts.

The AdP Group has also promoted sport as a factor for good health and social inclusion. Within this scope, we directly supported the National Adapted Swimming Team at the Paralympic Games of London 2012 and Rio 2016. We were also partners of the Paralympic Committee of Portugal, supporting our national team at Tokyo 2020.
